Blending In To Stand Out

Recently I've been seeing camoflauge print here and there. So far I've not seen a huge surge of it hit the high street but I have a feeling that soon, camoflauge could be the thing to be seen in. I've noticed that Topshop have a lot in so it probably won't be too long before the other stores catch on too.
All items shown above can be purchased from Topshop

Tiny Poundland Haul

Holaa! So today I was out in this little shopping area near me which only has a few shops but is nice to go round. They have a Poundland which, not going to lie, I actually love looking in. I usually come out with some really good bargains! I just thought I'd quickly share my few purchases with you guys. (There's so few I don't think it can be classified as a haul, oh well also I apologise in advance for the terrible quality, I didn't feel like getting my proper camera out for this little post).
First I picked up these Barry M lip glosses because I've had one before and I really liked it but it wasn't the nicest colour ever. Barry M is quite a big brand here in the UK but it's not usually the cheapest (for me!!). There was a few other colours but these two I was most drawn towards. I love the idea of orange lipgloss but I don't know if it will suit me but I thought "hey, it's only £1!".
Next (and finally) I bought these cute hair bows
I love hair bows and they're so easy to make but I never have any fabric in or clips so I was so happy when I saw these. They're pretty basic but I think they're quite cute and for just £1, I think they're worth it. Again, there were more colours but I liked these two best
Just a short and sweet post to share my few buys!

"Face your problems -don't Facebook them"

So guys, this post is going to be another one of those deep ones (like my Barbie one -Soz). I just think this is something really important that I need to say. So there's this photo I see on Facebook and twitter and everywhere a lot saying "Face your problems -don't Facebook them" and I actually find this sort of rude. For people who read peoples depressing status' they probably think it's attention seeking and they get annoyed reading them but I think for people who aren't in the other persons situation then it is a lot easier said than done. I feel that we shouldn't judge other peoples problems and we don't know what they're going through. I actually get very paranoid, anxious and insecure about everything and I constantly want to pack up a bag and move to a different country where no one knows me, so I know what it's like for people who put depressing status'. To be quite honest I think the reason people post these things is to ask for help. I think that they hope that someone will be nice enough to ask what's up and the upset person can offload their problems, I know that that saying "a problem shared is a problem halved" is very true. They want someone to make them feel like they are worth something and like people do care about them. All they want is help and they see Facebook as a way of asking. I can assure you that it doesn't help when people post the "face your problems photo". I can see that it makes the people who write depressing status' very insecure and like there is something wrong with them etc. I don't think I have a lot else to say other than, next time you see a depressing post or tweet then take the time to pop up to the poster and ask them what's up. They might not feel like they can tell you but it's uplifting to know that someone is there for them. You don't have to be that close, if you have them on Facebook then you must know them a bit so please just say something. I've popped up to people before asking if they're okay and they've told me it made them feel so much better and it made me feel good as well knowing that I had helped someone. Just please see peoples status' as a cry for help, please. You genuinely can help someone by respecting them.
Sorry this isn't my usual post but I've been thinking about this for a while and I thought that a blog post would be a good way to spread my thought across the world.

Get The Look: Ariana Grande (Popular Song)

Okay, so I was watching the video for Popular Song (YouTube it) and I noticed how flawless Ariana's make up is in it and how cute and sweet it looks. This led me on to want to recreate the look so that is what I'm doing today. She wears two (I think) different looks in the video, one is more dark and gothic and one is more light and wearable. I'd say one is day and the other is night, I'm recreating the "day" one which is what she wears during the kitchen scenes.
I have put together a set of most the things needed to create this look:
In this scene, Ariana's skin looks very matte and smoothed out, it doesn't look like she's wearing much on her face at all so I suggest using a matte foundation with a pressed powder to set it. I've heard that the Rimmel Stay Matte foundation is meant to be cake free which is the look we are going for. For definition on the cheek bones use a light dusting of black eyeshadow to contour for the vampire/gothic look achieved in this video. As an alternative to make this makeup more wearable, use a light dusting of a dark brown bronzer (or what ever you feel comfortable with wearing with your complexion). To finish off the face add a tiny bit of light pink blush to add dimension to the cheeks. As you can see there isn't lot of blush used in this look. Moving onto eyes now. The eyes are the main focus for this makeup. Begin by priming all around the eyes then add a cream shadow in a cream or light grey colour over the lid. Next apply a light grey/silver (similar to the colour marked as 1 on the photo above) powder shadow over the cream shadow bringing it out to the corners of the eyes a little more. Add a slightly darker grey into the crease and finish with an even darker grey or black shadow in the outer corners of the eye and blend together for a smokey look. Sweep a tiny little bit of white shadow under the eye to highlight and make the eyes appear bigger. Line the waterline and tight line with black eyeliner. Curl the lashes and apply mascara (avoid using anything that with clump the lashes together or make them look too thick). Finish the eyes by applying false lashes. Use lashes that look fairly natural and just enhance and length your natural lashes. Ariana's eyebrows don't look too defined here so simply fill them in lightly or just leave them. Line the lips with a liner that is slightly darker than the lipstick you are using. For the lipstick use a nude, light pink or peach lipstick. I would recommend using a nude colour for the best result and closest to the original makeup.
I think this make up is really cute and can easily be switched up to make it more wearable or change colours of eyeshadow for different occasions. This look can also be used for a last minute Halloween costume (maybe use a darker lip colour). I really hope you all enjoyed this post and I think I might make more posts like this Because it's really fun!

Tie Dye

It's took me a while to get this post written because of havin to upload photos which takes me forever to connect my camera to my laptop (which takes forever to load and always crashes) and then email them to my iPad. Anyway, here it is.
In August, Kendal and I decided to do some tie dying (it ended up as ombréing) as I'd never done it before. I was quite surprised at how easy the process was. Here's what we used
We used Dylon dye which is the most widely available dye here in the UK and it's found in the majority of craft stores and DIY stores. It's fairly inexpensive, costing approximately £3-£3.50 per pack. The colours that I used were Poweder Pink and Bahama Blue beacaue I wanted a nice transitional purple colour in between. The shirts we used were basic white ones from Primark and were only £2.50 each. Finally you will need salt. You can buy dye salt for around 50p for a bag but regular table salt does the same job (I already had salt in so I used table salt).
Next all you have to do it mix up your dyes according to the instructions on the packet. I can't remember exactly what I had to do but I know it was very simple. All you had to do was dissolve the dye in some water then add this to more water. After that just put your shirt in up the the desired length. For ombré then a little over half way is best. Leave the t-shirt in the dye for around 45 minutes (more if you want a stronger colour). Stir the dye regularly and move the shirt around so that you don't get any harsh lines. Repeat this process with any other colours you want. Finally rinse the shirt in a sink and put it in the wash. Throughout the time of handling dye, make sure you wear gloves as it can irritate skin.
The final product:
Although it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted, I'm still please for my first go and I might try it again sometime.
Hope you enjoyed it, try it out, it's so fun and easy!

NOTD: Perfectly Pastel

Aloha everyone, omg. I've not blogged in probably over a month and I feel terrible! I haven't even done my September favourites yet and were nearly at the end of October! Not to worry though, I have it lined up. I've been very busy lately and I haven't had much time to blog at all (more info in my September faves which is coming up soon).

Anyway, this post should be quite short and sweet as it's just a simple NOTD post. Normally I'm not a nail polish person at all. I always love seeing all the pretty colours lined up in the drug stores but I never buy any because I don't think I suit nail polishes. However, recently, I've been wanting to try out more colours and I've been trying to make more effort to make my nails look nice so I've been experimenting a lot with different colours. An account that I follow in Instagram post a photo a few days ago of some gorgeous pastel pink nails and I thought they looked amazing! Luckily, my sister is really into nail polishes and has a rather big collection. As luck would have it, she had a really nice pastel pink and I'm now in love with it!
The Polish is by a brand called BeautyUk and is in the shade 58 Soft Beige (don't get that because it's not beige in the slightest??) but it's a really nice sort of pastel pink, it's a little too dark to be classed as pastel I think. The polish is great because it dries so quickly and doesn't smudge at all (which always happens to me annoyingly, probably why I hate painting my nails so much). I absolutely love it! I only had to apply 2 coats but I think 1 would have been enough I just wanted to touch it up a bit.

Blogging feels so weird right now after such a long break! I feel like this post isn't the best I've ever done and the content isn't too great but I hope you enjoyed it. Also, because I didn't have time to get my camera out and upload the photos onto my computer and the email them across to to my iPad (a very long process indeed!) I decided to use my new iPhone (5c if you wondered). I got it for my birthday which was earlier in October and I was so happy:D I think the camera is actually great quality for a phone and so much better than my iPad, what do you guys think? Also what are some good nail polishes for autumn?

September Favourites

Deary me.. October is nearly over and I'm only just doing my September favourites! I'm so sory! And it's been over two weeks since I did a post! School has been getting a bit crazy at the moment though so I do apologise.
This is another month where I've had no beauty favourites but September seemed to last ages. I can't believe that it was only at the start of September when  I started back at school! I've only been back about two moths and I'm already sick of it and want to quit.. Sadly, school don't allow you to quit so I'm going to have to stick with it.
1. Nutella
It feels like I'm definitely the last one aboard this bandwagon. All my friends were always so shocked when I said I didn't like Nutella, I just don't really like nuts. However, my mum decided to buy some so I thought I'd try some again which turned out to be terrible decision as I got completely addicted to it! My favourite after school snack in September was breadsticks with Nutella.

2. Sainsburys Oatmeal and Raisin Cookies
These cookies are delicious! Sainsbury's is one of the main supermarkets in the UK. Is it possible for cookies to have a 'warm and cosy taste'? Because I'd say these cookies do. They're so perfectly autumnal and they might not be the healthiest but they are definitely the tastiest!

3. Wherever you are - 5SOS
If you saw my August faves then you'd know that I've become part of the 5SOS family. In September the decided to release a new song complete with a perfect video that killed me. Although I prefer the 5SOS upbeat songs, I still love this one. Deffo give it a listen

4. Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus
The video is a little revealing and I'm not really a fan and it makes it feel very real that her Hannah Montana days are over. I do like the song though, as much as I miss the old Miley.

So sorry this is nearly a month late! Also I've decided to give up with my whole tag a moth thing because it's too much of a commitment for me but I still have plenty of tags that I will upload randomly but it's not like anyone will miss it, ahaha. I think October will have more favourites and hopefully a few beauty ones as well!
