One Direction This Is Us

Some of you may be aware that I'm a huge directioner so I was extremely excited when went to see This Is Us with Kendal. I've been wanting to see it for ages but I just haven't had the chance because I've been so busy. It wasn't busy in the cinema we were in at all which was really good and it meant we could fangirl more! It was 3D and I was kind of worried it would look really weird but it didn't at all! I've only see about four 3D films and this was by far the best one I've ever seen! The 3D was just amazing and it made you feel like you were actually stood front row watching a concert. They used some fantastic special effects as well durning when they performed Teenage Dirtbag and Kiss You. I can't even describe how good the film actually was. It was so nice to see how close they actually are and see all the things they do together, it was just so cute! There were so many funny bits like the fishing bit with Harry and Liam but there were also moments that made you close to tears but the whole way through me and Kendal were singing, smiling, laughing and fangirling. I think it's one of the best films I've ever seen and the production team did so well to make such a great documentary film. If you're not a directioner then I think you should still watch this film because you would become a directioner or just have more respect for One Direction and understand why directioners love them so such. I honestly cannot think of a way of how to describe how perfect and great the film was.

Things Everyone Needs In Their Make-Up Collection: Autumn/Winter edition

Ahh, I'm so sorry I haven't blogged in so long! I've just been so busy with school and my school has decided it would be a good idea to be stricter on homework so all the teachers are setting more than they usually would😒. Anyway, today's post is things I think everyone should have in their makeup collection (if you haven't already read the title). A few posts back I did a "Things Everyone Should Have In Their Wardrobe" so check that out after you've read this if you want. So, on with the list.

1. Red Lipstick/gloss
I think a nice red, whether its dark or bright, is the perfect colour for autumn and winter. I think if you're not a very adventurous person when it comes to lip colours (like me), I think it's a really good idea to buy a cheap red lipstick so if you feel like wearing it then you can but then again, if you'd dont then you haven't spent £7+ on something you've not used. However, if you don't use it then you can use it in the future so it's not all that bad.

3. Blush
I think a good blusher is essential for autumn and winter as it adds a cute glow to you're cheeks. It adds that "wintry cold" look. I think any colour looks nice but it depends on your skin tone but I think a deep colour probably looks nicest in autumn and winter.

3. Lip Balm
ESSENTIAL. Seriously, I think everyone needs a good lip balm for colder months, I know my lips get extremely dried out in the cold seasons. It's a lot nicer to have soft smooth lips rather than dried out lips. I used to always love using my Vaseline and it made my lips so baby soft but it started to turn greasy towards the end of the tin so now I use my baby lips which I'm in love with. I used to be unsure because it dried out my lips a bit but I think that was just the "breaking in" stage because now my lips feel so soft and smooth and they look a lot healthier and plumper. It's also really nice because they are tinted but only slightly and they are very subtle. I also love my Body Shop Lip Butter. It has a nice creamy consitency and it's nice to layer it up and let it absorb and it feels so nice.

4. Nude Nail Polish
I love nudes and for some reason I think they go really well with jumpers. They have a really wintry look to them and I love how natural and subtle they are. They are perfect for autumn and winter because they aren't over the top. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of colour and deep reds and oranges are the perfect autumn colours but I think nude suits everyone and goes with everything.

That's it for is post. It feels so weird to be blogging again! Like I said before, school has been getting to me and I've just not managed to find any time to blog at all! I hope you all liked this post and for more things that I think are great for autumn, check out my autumn must haves which I posted back in August (around the 13th I think??).
Thank you!😘

First Day Back

This post is a little different to my usual fashion and beauty posts but I thought it would be nice just to tell you all about my first day back at school. So today was my first day back at school which meant waking up a lot earlier than I was used to! I was surprised when I woke up really early and was ready way before I had to get my bus so there was not last minute rushing around. I got into school and I was so nervous! I've just gone into year 10 which is my first GCSE year and all our forms and bands are mixed up now so I'm not with my friends as much. At my school you get out in a form in year 7 and then there are bands which are made up of 4 forms and there are 4 bands. All your lessons have people from the same band as you so you only see those people. When you get into year 10 there are only 2 bands and you aren't in forms. Anyway, I was extremely nervous as I didn't know many people who were going to be in my classes but I found that I wasn't the only one who was nervous! I don't know why I was so nervous because I've been going to the same school since I was in year 7. I got into form and found out it was photos today! We rarely have photos at school and I wasn't prepared for them at all because it was the first day back I was kind of lazy with my hair and make-up. For my GCSEs I've taken Product Design, Spanish, Textiles and History. After the embarrassment of photos my nerves were back as I had Product Design first and I didn't know anyone who had also taken it and I was terrified that I would be the only girl in the class! Luckily my friend Hollie had Engineering first so I walked down to the classroom with her and I was relieved to find out that two of my friends, Abbey and Lewis, had also taken product design. They didn't know anyone else taking it either so we were all in the same boat. When we were in the classroom I found out that a few people from my primary school had taken Product Design so it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Also the teacher that I have is lovely! I had him in year 7 for ICT and he actually still recognised me. I found him quite funny (although no one else laughed :L) and he was very relaxed and the lesson all went well despite how nervous I had been. Next I had Textiles and again, I didn't know anyone else in my class. Some of my friends had taken Textiles but they were all in another class. It turned out I knew the majority of the class, I just wasn't friends with them. I'm not going to lie, I don't really like my class but I hope once everyone is settled down I will enjoy it more. The lesson itself was terrible. It was the first day back and I wasn't prepared for proper work so my piece looked awful compared to everyone else's. Thankfully, the teacher I had I've had before twice and she seemed to like me so she offered encouragement but praising my work even though I knew it was terrible. Then I had Life Studies which is like PSHE and it was ok because we just watched a film but I didn't have any of my friends in my class so I was quite awkward but it was better because I had the same teacher last year for PRE and for History in year 7. Finally, I had History which wasn't that bad at all because there wasn't a seating plan so I got to sit next to my friend Maisy but I thought I was going to end up by myself! I also had e same teacher as last year and she used to be my form tutor until she went on maternity leave. Unfortunately, I think she's pregnant again and when I think someone is pregnant, I'm usually right so that means I will end up with a different teacher.
So that was my day and overall it went quite well and I think I will enjoy it a lot more once I'm settled in and got back into routine. Have any of you started back today? What was your favourite lesson or your worst?

August Favourites

Summer is now at an end and its going to be really sad to say goodbye to summer but I'm actually really looking forward to autumn. I live autumn because of the weather and clothes and its so warm and cosy. Just everything about autumn is perfect but seriously, how is it September already?! It feels like August passed in the time it takes to blink. July lasted for ever so I had ages to try out loads of new products but in August I didn't really use many beauty products regularly enough to class them as "favourites" so I've only got a couple.
I actually only have one beauty favourite and the rest are food/drink, randoms and songs.
My only beauty favourite is my Baby Lips
They are so adorable! I just love them so much and I just posted a review on them so check that out for a more in depth opinion. However, I said in my review that they dried my lips out a bit at first but I am now past that stage and they are very moisturising.
So that's it for beauty favourites, now for food and drink.
Firstly I have really been loving Fanta Fruit Twist. This has been out ages but I never tried it and I didn't know what flavour it was. My siste was always telling me to try it but I never did until around half way through August when my mum bought a pack of them. I've had Rio before and it is basically just the same as that. I don't really know what fruits are in it but from the packaging it looks like orange, passion fruit and mango but there might be grapefruit in it, I'm not sure. Anyway, it is a perfect summer drink and its so tropical and tasty and I could drink it all day.

The next drink I've been loving is also fizzy which is making me sound really unhealthy but I don't drink them very often. In August I have been enjoying Diet Coke. I'm not a huge fan of coke and I only started drinking it about 2 years because I used to hate it. Normally I have the regular coke but through August I've been drinking the Diet one and I prefer it as it tastes lighter. Normal coke can be quite heavy going and I always feel so full after I've drunk it. Diet coke also has a nicer taste to me.

Throughout the end of August I have been eating a lot of Wonka Nerds. In the UK Nerds and other Wonka sweets aren't widely available and I only know one sweet shop that sells Nerds but they are so expensive from there. They are £1.50 for the regular sized packet however I was in the pound shop with my friend and we saw the big packs of Rainbow Nerds which is a packet of mixed flavours. Obviously because they were from the pound shop they were £1 which is great value. Nerds are so yummy! They are tiny pieces of some kind of sweet and the only thing I can think of to compare it to is rock (as in the sort that you eat) but its not really like rock at all. Anyway, Nerds are really crunchy and tangy but not sour and just really nice sweets. I ate the whole packet myself and I probably should have shared them..

Random Favourites:

My first random favourite is a band that some of you may have heard of. They are Five Seconds Of Summer. Five Seconds Of Summer (5sos) is an Australian band  made up of Calum Hood, Luke Hemmings, Ashton Irwin and Michael Clifford. They were the support acts for One Direction's Take Me Home Tour which I was lucky enough to go to. I fell in love with 5sos then but I have only recently started listening to their music a lot. When I say a lot, I mean a lot. I listened to Heartbreak Girl as soon as I got back from the concert but then didn't listen to the other because I was worried I wouldn't like them :L Then I saw a lot of people do lyric art for their songs so I decided to listen to some more of their music. I watched the video for Try Hard and I was suddenly in love with them so all this month I've been having them on repeat over and over. Definitely check them out if you haven't already. If you're a fan of Mcfly I would recommend listening to 5sos because they have a similar sound to Mcfly's early work like Five Colours In Her Hair (great song).

Next is my favourite app that I've been totally addicted to
I don't know what it's called but if you search something like superhero birds it with come up. I don't play a lot of games on my iPad but when I do I become addicted. I've been playing this non-stop and it's really hard to think about stopping once you've started it. WARNING: HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!!

Favourite Songs Of The Month:

1. Unpredictable by 5sos
I love, love, love this song and I don't have a reason for loving it so much I just really do. The vocals just sound so perfect and this is probably my favourite 5sos song.

2. Gotta Get Out by 5sos
Yes, another 5sos song. I love this song as well and it is also one of my favourites. The vocals and drums  (the drums are played by Ashton) sound amazing on this track and it sounds like it should be off a movie or something.

So that's its for my favourites this month. It's not a very exciting list as I didn't try out any new products and August just passed so quickly, I don't even know what happened! Hopefully in September I will use more products. What were your favourites for August?

Product Review: Baby Lips

Baby Lips..
If you haven't heard of them already them I don't know where you've been. Many of you will have already ready tons of reviews on this product but I thought I'd share my own views.
Baby Lips are basically a tinted lip balm from the brand Maybelline. They have been out in the US for quite some time now but have recently arrived in the UK. When I heard Baby Lips were coming over here I was over the moon! I was searching through all the Boots (a UK drugstore) stores I gap could get to and I never had any luck as they were only available online and I didn't feel like paying for delivery. Finally they arrived in stores and I was quick to pick some up when I was in town. I got three (because it was on 3 for 2) and I got

I was a little disappointed as I had wanted to get all three coloured lip balms and I really wanted Cherry Me as I've heard that its the best one out of the six we have in the UK. It shows as well because it was he only one fully sold out. I am happy with the ones I got though.
My most favourite is Pink Punch because I love the colour.
It looks super bright but it is actually very sheer and subtle which I love as I think bright colours are a bit much for me at my age unless its a special occasion. Because it is so sheer it can be worn everyday and means I can wear it to school if I wanted to. I've found that it is quite buildable and a couple of coats would achieve a more intense colour.
Peach Kiss looks a little scary in the packaging. It looks extremely brown and I really don't suit brown lips. I would not have chosen this colour if it was a regular lipstick but I was so keen to see whether the hype was all worth it. This doesn't actually come out brown at all. It comes out very very sheer and light. It's really hard to explain what it looks like on but it is very natural and light. You can tell that there is a colour there but it isn't brown. Well it is slightly brown but it is so sheer it makes it a very pretty wearable brown.
The final one I picked up is Mint Fresh. This one is just a clear one and is just a regular lip balm except it has a nice scent and has an SPF of 20 which is quite good especially for summer. It's nice but I find that if I use it too often, I get sick of the scent even though it smells so good.
Baby Lips are meant to make your lips super smooth, like baby soft. So far I've found that my lips end up more dry than they were before I apply the product. I don't know if this is just the "breaking in" stage or whether this is what a lot of people have found. I do love them but I do think that they are very over rated and the hype was slightly unnecessary but that's my personal opinion. Who knows, maybe soon I'll be raving about these like crazy. I do hope we get more colours here in the UK because the range we have right now is pretty dull compared to what I've seen available in America.
Have any of you tried out Baby Lips? What do you think? Is the hype necessary or not?
