Welcoming 2014

Usually people would be writing about how sad it is to see another year pass and they'd talk about all the great things they did that year and how much they enjoyed it. Not me though, aha. I am so excited for 2014 and I can't wait to see the end of 2013. I didn't enjoy 2013 that much, right at the start of the year I did but then it kind of went downhill and I hated it. Obviously I'm still thankful for all the things I got to do, it just wasn't the best year I've had so far. I was lucky enough to visit Disneyland Paris as a school trip which was absolutely amazing as it's one of my favourite places I've been to in the whole world (yep I'm a huge Disney fan). The following month I got to see one of my all time favourite bands in concert, One Direction! I enjoyed it so much and I got so many great photos! Those are the two stand out moments of 2013 for me. I also started this blog in June which is one of the best decisions I've made!
I love the changing of the years because I feel like it gives you a motivation to do something, whether it's something like lose weight or just do something you've always wanted to. Fallouts and arguemets can be forgotten and left in 2013 whilst you move onto 2014. You get a fresh start and you can learn from the mistakes that you've made in 2013. This year there's a lot I want to do/ change in 2014, the main goal being to lose weight and achieve a flat tummy because I'm sick of being the "big" friend. I feel rather determined right now (don't know how long that will last! Haha) and I want people to be able to see results and be like "wow" and I know this sounds weird but I want to have a body that people envy. I also want to try and be nicer to people in 2014.. This has been a New Years resolution for many years but nothing seems to change but I want to change it now. I'm not going to change drastically because I don't want to become a completely different person I just want to be the best version of myself. I would like to stop procrastinating and get things done and I really want to do more. Like get out more and go places with my friends. I want to look back on 2014 and be proud of what I've achieved and be happy to look back on all the amazing things I've done. I'm looking forward to going to Italy with my school, I'm also a little nervous as I'll be getting on a plane for the first time in 12 years! Another exciting event that I'm looking forward to is seeing a 5sos (One Direction's support act)  concert. After having such a bad year in 2013, I'm determined to make 2014 my year. I hope you all have a great new year and stick with those resolutions!

Hayden Williams: Disney Divas For Vogue

Back when I first started my blog, which was around June, on of my first posts was on one of my favourite designers, Hayden Williams. He recently came out with a new collection and it's by far one of my favourites so I just had to share it. Previously he had created a collection called "Disney Divas" (which is mentioned in more detail in my other post) and he has now come out with the "Disney Divas For Vogue" collection which is the Disney princesses on Vogue covers. I love how they look so modern and "model" like whilst sticking to the Disney roots. Overall, I think the collection is very creative and unique.
This one is my personal favourite as Rapunzel is my favourite princess although the others are great too. This one has actually replaced the Story Of My Life single cover as my lock screen.
I haven't done a proper blog post on a while so it feels nice to be back! I have a few others posts planned which I look forward to sharing with you all!

Quick Christmas Gift Ideas

I think everyone has been in that situation where you only have a few days left to buy Christmas presents and you hardly have any money left. I know I have! With Christmas fast approaching I thought I'd share some cheap gift ideas with you guys. With me being a teenager, I don't have a ton of money to spend on my friends, as much as I would love to spend a lot of money on them each but as I have quite a few people to buy for, my budget just doesn't stretch that far. I usually spend around £2 on each of my friends and then £5 if it is for a secret Santa gift.
Here's a few simple gift ideas...
1. Jewellery
Topshop and New Look have a great selection of jewellery and you might be thinking "but that's expensive?" And normally it is, however I would recommend checking the sales. And no, that's not a "cheap" gift. After all it is still a good quality brand and a lovely gift to receive only it saves you a lot of money meaning you have more money left over or you can buy extra for friends...or yourself!

2. Pound Shop/Home Bargins etc
This might sound really tacky to a lot of people and I would probably think so as well but being I regular in poundland etc. I know some good good little things you can buy. Obviously there's the basic chocolate but you can actually sometimes get Thorntons which would be a lot more expensive else where. One of my favourite things in "cheap stores" is the makeup section. I often find some really nice products by proper brands, for example Maybelline or Rimmel. A few posts back I did a tiny poundland haul where I mentioned picking up two Barry M lip glosses. Home Bargins also has a really good range of scented candles for super cheap and I think they would make lovely gifts. I recommend checking out the home aisle in these kind of shops as you can get some really sweet vintage style, shabby chic items.

3. Body Mists
I have already told my friends I am probably getting them these for Christmas so it doesn't matter if they read this post. Anyway, I think this year I will be getting my friends the Boots Natural Collection Body Sprays. They are only £2 each and I believe they are on 3 for 2 during the Christmas period. The scents a really "powerful" and last a long time as well as being so lovely! I think nearly all girls at my school are obsessed with these sprays!

4. Room Decor
In stores like BandM Bargins and Home Bargins, there is usually always a great home section (like I mentioned above) where you can pick up really cute photo frames or jewellery stands etc. Personally, I love that kind of things like little shabby chic, vintage items. If you buy a photo frame, you can add a photo of you and the person you are giving it to for a really nice thoughtful gift. These kind of shops also have really nice scented candles for really cheap. They sell the glade ones and big jar ones which I think are meant to be a kind of dupe for Yankee Candles. There's usually the cute Christmassy/winter scents and I think these would make fantastic gifts.

Little Mix Outfits on Sweat The Small Stuff

Here in the UK we have a TV show called Sweat The Small Stuff which is hosted by the famous Grimmy (Nick Grimshaw). It features celebrity guests talking about little things in life that make them sweat. For the final episode of series two which aired this Tuesday! the guests were non other than Little Mix. As soon as I found out that they were on I knew they would be dressed amazingly and it turns out, I was right..
I loved Jade's outfit, she went for a simple cherry print shirt from topshop with a basic black skirt. The whole outfit worked really well together and it looked super fashionable with a touch of cuteness to show Jade's personality and style.
Jesy wore a black bodycon mesh dress which looked really nice and simple. I am also a huge fan of her hairstyle which was two very loose braids.
Leigh-Anne went for a basic white shirt which looked very classy and elegant. She also opted for a similar hairstyle to Jesy's but only had one messy, loose side braid.
Perrie being the queen of fashion, wore a tartan jacket and skirt. Tartan is becoming very popular lately so Perrie's outfit is very on trend. I love that Perrie and her stylist(s) know exactly what's fashionable and what suits her. I have also been seeing this skirt worn by a lot of different celebrities in different colours.
I love Little Mix's style and I think they can be considered to be very inspirational in terms of fashion. I had written a huge Christmas tag part two and deleted it by accident after I'd posted it and I got extremely annoyed so I decided to do a different post. Recently I haven't done many fashion posts so I thought this was a good idea and I was planning on doing it anyway.
Also I've made an istagram and twitter for my blog!

O Christmas Tree...

I will quite happily admit that I'm a big kid when it comes to Christmas. There's just something about it that I love and I can't see how anyone can possible be a Scrooge about the whole thing. So with yesterday being December 1st, I was extremely excited to be putting up the first of the decorations! I thought I'd do a quick post to share my tree with you.
Seeing as my room is red and white I decided to use these colours for my tree except in the end I just went for red and I really like how it looks. It looks better tha previous years as I got a new green tree rather than a silver one...
This year feels more festive and cosy to me!
I love all the glitter and everything on this tree, I just feel like my room is a lot more festive feeling! I particularly love my tinkerbell which I got a few years ago before I redecorated my room red and it just happens to match perfectly! I'm thinking of doing another post soon with the other decorations in my room. Also, I've decided to get an Instagram specifically for this blog! I'm going to be post make up products, fashion and blog posts and blog related content, I hope you will enjoy it and give me a follow! (@anotherbritishgirl_) I guess I can also say MERRY CHRISTMAS now!
